APRN | Lead Clinician
Melissa McIntyre, a board-certified Nurse Practitioner, joined the Re:nu 180 Medspa team in 2021 as a lead clinician. She offers the full spectrum of services at Re:nu and especially enjoys Botox®, Dysport®, and the artistic techniques that are a part of sculpting with fillers.
Melissa has a passion for health, fitness, and nutrition, and understands that we live in a culture that is incredibly critical of beauty and self-care.
“I want to help someone wake up in the morning, look in the mirror, and feel happy in their own skin. I love to enhance my patients’ natural beauty while also helping them address an area that they may feel self-conscious about,” explains Melissa.
Melissa graduated from Southern Connecticut in 2011, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then later passed the boards to become certified as an APRN. She got her start in Hartford Hospital in Medical Surgery, caring for kidney and liver transplant patients. She then moved on to work in Sharon Hospital in wound care and then home care, traveling to patients’ homes to ensure personalized, individual care. After passing the boards, Melissa worked in family care for several years at Town and Country Pediatrics and Family Medicine in Watertown. Here, she cared for patients ranging from newborns to older adults, handling chronic care, physicals, and more.
When working in family care as an APRN, she emphasized the importance of recognizing the individuality of each patient with their genetics and how their body handles stress or reacts to treatments. The same can be said for cosmetic procedures.
“Each person is different, and their beauty is what makes them special. A gentle approach is best, and we never want to change someone’s uniqueness. Less is more, I want to show people that each treatment is individualized and how it will impact their natural beauty,” she explains. “I look forward to forming relationships with all of the Re:nu Beauties I’ll be working with. Together we’ll develop a personal approach just for you.”
