Scarlett Duncan, a board-certified Nurse Practitioner, joined the Re:nu 180 Medspa team in 2022 as a lead clinician. She draws from her medical background and blends it with her passion for beauty to hone an artistic approach to cosmetic injections with an attention to detail. Scarlett enjoys both Botox® (preventative) and filler (restorative) injections much in the same way that she appreciates a good skin care regimen and stunning makeup. She also loves the immediate and beautiful results of lip injections for her clients.
“Beauty has always been a big part of my life. I was born in South Korea, the birthplace of K-beauty. Korean beauty is very forward-thinking and cutting edge. It puts a high value on youthful, glowing complexions with a very natural look as opposed to caked-on cosmetics that cover and hide. I also grew up in Las Vegas, the ultimate glitz and glam capital, immersed in all things beauty. It’s no wonder why I love to help people feel good about themselves through the discovery of their own beauty,” explains Scarlett.
Scarlett has always been passionate about healthy lifestyle changes that lead to better health, which is what first brought her to nursing. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) in 2009. After graduation, she worked as a registered nurse in a cardiac unit at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, NV. Inspired to further her education, Scarlett went on to earn her Master’s degree in Nursing from UNR and became a nurse practitioner in 2016.
As an advanced care provider, Scarlett gained experience in infectious diseases, wound care, and non-surgical anti-aging cosmetic injections and laser treatments. Infectious diseases provided a strong foundation in anatomy, pathophysiology, and pharmacology. Skin evaluation and dexterity are critical components of wound care. Despite her true appreciation for the acute care environment, helping clients embrace their own reflection in the mirror is where Scarlett saw her passion and profession really come together.
“Making a positive difference in patients’ lives has always been my goal as a provider, and I am so excited to be doing just that with the beautiful clients at Re:nu 180 Medspa. Everyone is beautiful in their own special way. At the same time, I also understand how the littlest things we see in the mirror can make such a difference in our self-image and confidence (both positive and negative). My goal is to restore what my clients once had and enhance their gorgeous features,” she says.
Scarlett takes the time to get to know each client to learn their wants and needs. She creates achievable and realistic yet stunning beauty goals together with her clients. Her skilled artistry through cosmetic procedures creates results that look like her clients are well-rested, with youthful, glowing complexions and contours.
