Wrinkles can make a person frown. Sadly, wrinkles and fine lines can be a sign of aging and some people can’t cope with that. There are several facials and creams that claim they can decrease the appearance of wrinkles, but they don’t always back up what they say. Some people think laser treatments can be the answer to reducing the look of wrinkles, but sometimes laser treatments can do more harm than good. Is there a treatment that can reduce wrinkles? Thanks to Re:Nu 180 there is! Re:Nu 180 MedSpa located in Southington offers Botox®, a well-known injectable that has been treating wrinkles and fine lines for many years. Botox® is a popular treatment among men and women because it lessens the appearance of aging skin.
What is Botox®?
Botox® Southington is a FDA- approved treatment that can treat frown lines and wrinkles. The injectable is a botulinum toxin protein. Botox® treats moderate to severe wrinkles for both men and women. *
How does Botox® work?
Wrinkles and frown lines are created through time due to the muscle activity that causes us to frown, squint or do other facial expressions. Botox® is used to help decrease the muscle activity, by being injected into the particular muscles. Botox® Southington is injected underneath the skin’s surface into the muscle. *
What are the common treatment areas?
When it comes to Botox® it can treat three important kinds of wrinkles. The types of wrinkles it can treat are the following:
- Glabella “elevens” *
- Forehead “horizontal lines” *
- Crow’s feet*
Glabella “Elevens”
As we grow older we notice that wrinkles and frown lines can appear due to facial expressions. But what exactly is Glabella? Glabella are the frown lines that appear between your forehead and eyebrows, they appear as vertical lines, hence why they are called “elevens”. Botox can treat these annoying lines. *
Once the medical expert locates the “elevens”, she will inject 5 injections into the muscles that are in the forehead. One injection is injected into the procerus muscle, while four are injected in the corrugator muscles. *
Forehead “Horizontal Lines”
Different facial movements can cause several types of wrinkles and facial lines. Horizontal forehead lines can be found between the eyebrows and hairline. The movement associated with raising the brows up, is what creates those wrinkles. Botox is injected into the frontalis muscle to temporarily stop that movement, resulting in a smoother looking forehead. Depending on the individual, it can be as few as six injections or up to ten injections. *
Crow’s Feet
Crow’s Feet can be a number one sign of aging skin. Crow’s feet can appear on the sides of the eyes. *
The medical expert will locate the target area and then will inject three areas into the muscle that structures the side of the eye, this muscle is known as the orbicularis oculi. The same procedure will take place on the other eye. Once Botox® is injected it will relax the muscles activity which will help decrease the appearance of lines and wrinkles. *
What to expect with a Botox treatment?
The needle used to inject Botox is very tiny and for most people, it just feels like a mosquito bite. There is very little down time associated with Botox treatments, and full results are seen within 10-14 days after the injection.
